FRIDAY SERVICE
On the highest crime night of the week, over 90 youth, 12-18 year olds, gather weekly from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. We pick the youth up from their homes in our buses. We provide an evening of fun and inspiration filled with the love of Jesus. Our food court, video and board games, and sports draw youth together into this safe community. Youth pastors share relevant topics and at the end of every service the invitation to receive Christ as Lord is extended, and many come forward. Every attendee opens and reads the Bible with us.
SATURDAY MORNING
Every Saturday morning from 10 AM to 12 PM. We host over 50 children, ages of 3-11. We pick the kids up in our buses and bring them to and from our campus. They enjoy games, crafts, and sports and the love of Jesus. We serve breakfast and provide Christ-centered preaching.
SLICE CAMPUS PROGRAM
SLICE stands for Saving Lives In Campuses Everywhere. SLICE is a 30-minute lunch-time program that POL Youth Directors host weekly in 1 junior high and 3 high schools in Oakland, speaking to over 500 students. We offer young people a “Slice of Pizza” and a “Slice of Life.” Youth directors build friendships and trust and discuss relevant issues such as depression, gang violence, academic excellence, family matters, etc.; which empower the youth of Oakland to renewed hope and healing in their lives. Since we are not able to talk about Jesus during SLICE we invite the youth to our Friday night program and they learn that the hope we spoke of is found in Jesus.
COMMUNITY OUTREACHES
Every Saturday morning from 10 AM to 12 PM. We host over 50 children, ages of 3-11. We pick the kids up in our buses and bring them to and from our campus. They enjoy games, crafts, and sports and the love of Jesus. We serve breakfast and provide Christ-centered preaching.
BIBLE STUDY
Our Bible studies and discipleship groups are where youth and children are taught practical ways to apply Friday and Saturday’s messages to their everyday lives. This enables them to take ownership of their faith.
HOME
VISITATIONS
It is impossible for a youth pastor to truly understand what an inner-city youth is going through without visiting their homes. Home visits provide the opportunity to share the gospel and build trust with youth and kids, as well as their families. Youth desire real relationships with their leaders, and visiting their homes helps establish that trust. Once trust is established, we can better understand and communicate with our youth.
LEADERSHIP
SCHOOL FOR
KIDS & YOUTH
Leadership School is a discipleship and hands-on training program designed to develop spiritual and leadership growth. Our goal is to raise Christian youth leaders who will discipline other youth.
